Background:
A declared goal of the City of Broken Arrow is to encourage, facilitate and promote economic growth within and near the city by attracting and expanding both new and existing industry and commercial business.
Rise Grind & Ride Expresso Caf? began operating as a Broken Arrow Farmers Market eleven years ago. Four years later it grew to the level of being able to operate out of a brick-and-mortar location at the northern commercial edge of the Rose District at 521 N Main St. After over a decade of serving the Broken Arrow community, the business has outgrown its current location and needs to expand.
For nearly four years, this highly visible property at 224 S Main St. has remained vacant with plywood covered windows, creating a significant blight at one of the Rose District's most prominent intersections. This project presents an opportunity to transform a long-dormant building into a welcoming and vibrant center of commerce and community activity worthy of our award-winning downtown.
Upon completion, this project will introduce a new business concept currently void in the Rose District: a neighborhood market and deli offering grab-and-go food, everyday grocery essentials, and locally sourced products. Theis business model also fills a critical gap in the downtown marketplace by providing nearby residents, employees, and visitors with convenient access to everyday necessities such as milk, bread, eggs, prepared foods, and other essentials. The walkable retail experience supports the growing demand for an urban downtown lifestyle while reducing the need for additional vehicle trips.
