Background:
On November 9, 2015, Staff presented a request for a market research study and tourism asset inventory for the Broken Arrow Convention and Visitors' Bureau (CVB). The asset inventory will provide a program of work for future programming and direction for the CVB. The research will establish a visitor profile and then measure and evaluate the economic impact of tourism in Broken Arrow. These objectives would include the reasons people visit Broken Arrow, where they visit from, activities they are doing, and demographic information.

On December 14, 2015, the CVB board approved a Request for Proposal (RFP) for consultant services to provide assistance in developing a Tourism Market Research and Asset Inventory. The purpose was to secure a program for the promotion of tourism in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

Requests for Proposal were sent to thirteen (13) vendors. Five (5) responses were received. Staff thoroughly reviewed and vetted each proposal. RFP responses received and their associated costs are as follows:

* Destination Strategy Partners - $24,750.00
* Young Strategies - $54,160.00
* CS&L - $87,690.00
* DMO Proz - $155,700.00
* Oklahoma State University Hospitality Program - $219,979.00

Destination Strategy Partners presented a proposal of 24,750.00. While Destination Strategies has experience in the Convention and Visitors Bureau industry, their proposal and project scope is limited to print advertising, experiential marketing and social media within the Kissimmee and Osceola County, Florida areas.
