Presentation of upcoming Parks and Recreation micro-survey

Background:
On January 30, 2024, the City of Broken Arrow opened a comprehensive survey for feedback from citizens regarding the city’s performance providing public services and to seek input on a future public infrastructure and quality of life capital improvement projects. The goal of the survey was to gain an understanding of what is important to the citizens of Broken Arrow, realize future opportunities and challenges, and use the data as a guide in the bond project selection process ahead of the upcoming General Obligation Bond Election in April 2026.
The survey was open from January 30 through February 29 and received 3,947 responses in 31 days. The results of the survey indicated citizens have an overall positive perception about the quality of life in Broken Arrow.
Citizens responded favorably to the questions about Parks and Recreation. Parks and Recreation was rated as the third-highest facet of community living in Broken Arrow, indicating it is highly valued by residents.
This micro-survey will focus on the city’s Parks and Recreation offerings and gauge the public’s opinion about a new community center, the build-out of Elam Park, the trail system in BA, as well as other recreation opportunities in the city as the process continues to consider capital improvement projects for the 2026 GO Bond.
