Background:
The Street division requested and sought bids for one dump truck. Ten vendors were solicited to bid on this truck, a total of five bids were received. A bid from Summit Truck Group did not meet specifications. Premier Truck submitted two bids with bid #2 being $442.00 higher. However, the Street and Storm Water Department staff identifies the #2 bid for the 2017 Western Star as being the most advantageous for the following reasons:
• Chassis warranty is unlimited versus 100K miles
• 25 day earlier delivery
Funds for this purchase have been appropriated and are available in the STCI fund in the amount of $125,000.
Cost: $115, 337.00
