Title:

title

Approval of and authorization to execute a Proclamation declaring the week of September 17-23, 2023, as Constitution Week

End

Background:

Constitution Week is the commemoration of the United States Constitution.

In 1955, the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) petitioned Congress to set aside September 17-23 annually to be dedicated for the observance of Constitution Week. President Dwight D. Eisenhower signed the resolution into law on August 2, 1956.

Constitution week emphasizes citizens’ responsibilities for protecting and defending the Constitution, educates citizens on America’s heritage and foundation, and encourages the study of historical events that led to the framing of the Constitution in 1787.
