Approval of a Letter of Agreement with Employer Advocates, LLC to provide employee health, welfare and human resources consulting services
End

Background:
To provide a comprehensive health plan at a competitive price, while controlling the costs paid by the employer, requires well thought out and strategic decisions about plan design and delivery of services. Last year, the City contracted with PremierSource, LLC to provide professional consulting services independent from any insurer or medical service provider. The services provided by Teah Corley, CEO and the staff at PremierSource, LLC have had a meaningful impact on the employee health plan.

In July, staff was advised that PremierSource would be managed by an outside broker and Ms. Corley was establishing a new consulting firm, Employer Advocates, LLC. Many of their employees that the City has worked with over the years will be moving to Employer Advocates, LLC.

Ms. Corley and her Staff have been valuable partners in developing a long term strategic benefit plan that include medical provider analysis, compliance management, active health plan management and employee education. Their Staff is very familiar with the City's plan and objectives to maintain and provide the best benefit to the employees. For this reason, it is recommended that the City contract with Employer Advocates, LLC to provide employee health, welfare and human resources consulting services.

Cost: $10.75 per eligible employee per month. (Annual estimated cost is ($62,000.00)
