Background:
Law enforcement agencies throughout the State of Oklahoma are able to purchase equipment at the state contract price, which is advantageous to the political subdivisions by allowing them to make purchases at lower prices. The Police Department is seeking to purchase Hanwha 4K License Plate Reading cameras for the coverage of thirty major intersections throughout the city. Hanwha is a South Korean company formerly Samsung security and is a global leader in video hardware and technology with a large footprint in all levels of the American government sector. This purchase is an important addition to field assets supporting the Real Time Information Center.
Orion Security Solutions state bid for this equipment was $82,576.12
Funds have been appropriated and are available in the Police Department’s portion of the Public Safety Sales Tax Fund. Tax Capital Improvement Fund.
