                     Approval of and authorization to execute a contract for professional services between the City of Broken Arrow and Family and Children’s Services to provide a Violence Response Program for Broken Arrow in Fiscal year 2015-2016

Background:

The City of Broken Arrow has provided the citizens of Broken Arrow with a domestic violence emergency response team since June of 1999.  The most recent contract expired June 30, 2015.  The City of Broken Arrow will use State grant funds, with additional funding from available police funds, to contract with Family and Children’s Services to provide emergency counseling services for victims within the City of Broken Arrow during the fiscal year 2015-2016.  The State grant consists of $42,735.00.  The City of Broken Arrow Police will contribute $6,634.00 from available operational funds toward the required cash match to ensure our community has the services of a full-time Victims Advocate.  As part of the grant, the Broken Arrow Police Department will provide office space for the Counselor.
