Background:
In September 2000, the Metropolitan Environmental Trust (M.e.t.) moved into the former public works building at 302 N Elm Place. This site was chosen for its easy access to allow the drop off recycling materials and serve the needs of the community.
The City of Broken Arrow recognizes the partnership of the M.e.t., the public who uses the site, and the staff who work at the site to deliver high quality service to the residents. In the twenty-five years of operating the M.e.t. has had the following materials delivered to the site:

5,511,043 pounds of Glass
943,033 pounds of Aluminum
9,303,450 pounds of Newspaper
436,260 pounds of Batteries
4,404,529 pounds of Mixed Paper
1,925,457 pounds of Scrap Metal / Steel Cans
19,304 gallons of Antifreeze
213,804 gallons of Motor Oil
746,674 pounds of E-Waste
