Background:
This project is to prepare the site, add sidewalks and planting beds, irrigation and concrete footers for the Veteran's Park redevelopment as shown on the plans. The work will include the placement of the Memorial Wall honoring four branches of the military with a plaque honoring the men killed in combat in the Vietnam War.

The project was advertised for bids on January 10 and January17, 2018. Bids were opened on January 31, 2018 and seven (7) bids were received. All bids were responsive. The Certified Bid Tabulation is attached. The lowest responsible bidder was Ground Level, LLC., with a base bid of $112,643.00, the Basis for Award as stated in the bid document proposal, $13,104.00 for Add Alternate #1, and $11,615.00 for Add Alternate #2 for a total of $137,362.00. All other bidders' base bids were above the $112,643.00. The engineer's estimate was $110,891.59 for the base bid, $13,440.00 for Add Alternate #1, and $11,000.00 for Add Alternate #2, for a total of $135,331.59.

Staff recommends awarding the Bid, including Add Alternate #1 & Add Alternate #2, in the amount of $137,362.00 to Ground Level, LLC.

Funding for the improvements will be from Parks Capital and Sales Tax Capital Improvements (STCI) funds.
