Title:

title

Approval of and authorization to execute Agreement, Gas Facilities Relocation, between Oklahoma Natural Gas and the City of Broken Arrow, for Jasper Street and Aspen Avenue Intersection Improvements (Project Number ST20311)

End

Background:

The City of Broken Arrow plans to improve the Jasper Street and Aspen Avenue intersection as part of the 2018 GO Bond. In order to accommodate the new construction, existing Oklahoma Natural Gas Company (ONG) gas facilities need to be relocated. Portions of these existing facilities are located within existing private ONG easements, and as such, the City must reimburse ONG for the cost of relocating those portions of the facilities. ONG will bear the cost of relocating the portions of the facilities that do not occupy private easements, or for improvements (betterments) to their facilities completed as part of this project.

The total anticipated construction cost for this work is $516,622.00. Of which, the City portion is $111,176.00 (21.52%). ONG’s share is $405,446.00 (78.48%), which includes any betterment. The attached Agreement details these costs and serves as authorization for ONG to begin the relocation process.

Staff recommends approval of the Agreement with ONG to relocate the gas facilities for an estimated cost to the City of $111,176.00.
