Background:
The north leg of the 6th Street and Kenosha Street intersection was previously identified as a project to provide a dedicated left turn for improving traffic flow leaving the Public Safety Complex. With this in mind, the Engineering and Construction Department solicited an engineering consultant to provide construction plans for said improvements.
After completion of the design plans, the project was advertised April 28 and May 5, 2026. Bids were opened June 9, 2026, with five bids received, all of which were responsive. A certified bid tabulation is attached. The bids submitted were composed of thirty-six (36) pay items to form the total base bid. The lowest responsible bidder was Cherokee Pride Construction, Inc. with a total bid of $227,405.00. The total engineer’s estimate for this project was $184,487.00
