Background:
The Verdigris River Water Treatment Plant’s (VRWTP) High Service Pump Station (HSPS) currently relies on one HVAC unit operating continuously during the summer months to maintain temperatures necessary for reliable operation of the pumps and associated equipment. The proposed project includes the design of two additional HVAC units to provide redundancy when the existing unit is taken out of service for maintenance or emergency repairs. This additional cooling capacity will help protect critical equipment and support uninterrupted delivery of treated water to residents.
The Utilities Department negotiated a Professional Consultant Agreement with HDR Engineering, Inc., in the amount of $73,890.00 for design services for the two additional HVAC units. Staff recommends approval of the agreement to proceed with the design of these improvements.
