Presentation, update and discussion on the status of Streetscapes Phase IV construction
End
Background:
The City Council awarded the Streetscapes Phase IV construction contract to Tri-Star Construction on July 19, 2016. A Notice to Proceed was issued to the contractor on August 29, 2016. The project is currently 40% complete, with construction taking place on both sides of Main Street from Dallas Street to Fort Worth Street, on side streets, and the Gateway at Main and Kenosha.
Construction started on September 12, 2016, at Dallas Street east of Main Street. Demolition, storm sewer, light pole foundations, underground electric and irrigation mains, concrete curbs, sidewalks, driveways, raised planters and seat walls are complete on the east side of these two blocks.
Concrete sidewalks and curbs and asphalt pavement are being placed on Dallas, El Paso, and Commercial Streets east of Main Street.
Sidewalks, curbs and gutters, and electrical lines are being installed on the east side of Main Street at Fort Worth. On the west side of Main Street from Dallas to El Paso, water lines and footings are complete. Electrical systems and irrigation lines are being constructed.
The concrete foundation for the Gateway at Main and Kenosha has been placed.
Construction completion will probably be pushed back from February 2017 to March 2017 due to the City not allowing the contractor to work in certain areas because of public activities.
