Background:
To assist the Streets and Stormwater Department in their street maintenance program, the Engineering and Construction Department advertised a “non-encumbered” contract for Portland Cement (PC) Concrete Repairs. The contract will be awarded based on unit prices, then work orders will be issued against the main contract for various PC Concrete Repairs. The contract will be awarded for a one-year period, with up to two possible renewals at the same unit prices.
The project was advertised for bids on April 9 and April 16, 2024. Bids were opened on April 30, 2024, and three (3) bids were received. The Certified Bid Tabulation is attached. The bids submitted were composed of thirty-eight (38) pay items to form the Total Base Bid. The lowest responsible bidder was Cherokee Pride Construction, Inc. with a Total Bid of $548,875.00. The engineer’s estimate was $458,961.25.
