Background:

                     On February 2, 2018, Code Enforcement opened a case for a dilapidated and unsecure structure at 21460 East 45th Street South.  An inspection showed the property to be in the following condition, which according to State Statute and City Ordinance meets the definition of a dilapidated structure and eligible for demolition: the house was unsecured and unoccupied.  There is water damage to the floor in various rooms throughout the house.  There is water damage to the ceiling in the living room and the front and back doors were open and unsecure allowing the elements, rodents, and animals access to the interior of the residence.  The exterior of the resident is missing skirting and is overall in various states of decay.  The roof is covered with fallen tree limbs. On February 13, 2018, A Notice to Abate a Nuisance Public Hearing for rehabilitation or demolition of the dilapidated structure was posted on the property and mailed certified to the property owner. There have been no applications filed for a building permit or a demolition permit.
