Background:
This project began in 2020 with the idea of creating monument signs at our arterial entrances to the City. GH2 Architects, LLS was hired to create a map of proposed Gateway locations broken into different tiers based upon the volume of traffic in that area as well as design the primary, secondary, and tertiary Gateways. Since this original agreement was executed, a subcommittee was created by the planning commission to work with GH2 to ensure that the Gateway designs best represented what The City wanted. This subcommittee met for several months fine tuning the details of this design. After the designs were approved by the subcommittee GH2 created construction documents for four (4) Primary Signs, two (2) Secondary Signs, and eight (8) Tertiary Signs located throughout the City of Broken Arrow.
The project was advertised on September 10 and September 17, 2024. A Pre-Bid meeting was held on September 17, 2024. There were two bids received on October 8, 2024. The Certified Bid Tabulation is attached. This project included Schedule 1: Primary Sign A, Schedule 2: Primary Sign B, Schedule 3: Primary Sign C, Schedule 4: Primary Sign D, Schedule 5: Secondary Sign E, Schedule 6: Secondary Sign F, Schedule 7: Tertiary Signs, and Schedule 8: Electrical Coordination Allowance of $140,000. All eight Schedules are recommended to be awarded. The lowest reasonable bid for these items was from Northeastern Irrigation & Landscape, Inc. for $819,207.65 where $140,000 is held in contingency for Electrical Coordination. The Engineer’s Estimate was $802,504.50.
