Background:
Residents along E. Knoxville Street in the Oak Creek Estates neighborhood North of the Oak Creek South neighborhood have experienced overflows from the sewer manholes in their backyards during high flow and rain events. The proposed solution to this issue is to reduce flow on this area of the collection system by rerouting Blue Bell Creameries discharges to the Northeast side of Highway 51, crossing Highway 51, continuing in a Southwesterly direction until connecting to an existing 15” sewer line at East Washington Street. The project consists of about 7,030 LF of 15”, 18”, and 20” gravity sewer line and 12 new sewer manholes. The construction time will be 300 calendar days.
The project was advertised on September 15th and September 22nd, 2026. An optional Pre-Bid Meeting was held virtually on September 23rd, 2026. There were eleven (11) bids received October 20th, 2026.
