Title:

title

Acceptance of the Drainage Advisory Committee’s recommendation to approve expenditure of 2018 General Obligation (GO) Bond funds for survey and construction funds for drainage improvements along the Indian Springs Golf Course and in the Indian Springs 2nd Addition subdivision

End

Background:

The case was brought before the Drainage Advisory Committee on July 28th, 2025 for design funds. The Committee voted 6-0 to recommend approval of expenditure of funds.

The project is located on the Indian Springs Golf Course and in the Indian Springs 2nd Addition. Indian Springs Country Club is experiencing erosion on the golf course where a 48-inch pipe daylights out of the hillside between #8 and #6 fairway. The pipe collects water from the subdivision to the north, Indian Springs 2nd Addition. The pipe has broken apart in several places and has been disconnected from the headwall. This appears to be causing erosion along the hillside.

Within the past 3 months, there has been flooding in the neighborhood to the north, Indian Springs 2nd Addition, that connects to the broken drain pipe, possibly due to the exposed pipe downstream. There is also only one inlet on the south side of Fairway Dr. that collects approximately 5 acres from the subdivision. The water on the north side of Fairway Dr. does not drain efficiently since there is only one inlet located on the south side of Fairway Dr.

Staff is requesting $125,000.00 of the 2018 General Obligation Bond Proposition 6 for funds for survey and construction funds.

This area flows to the Arkansas River (Elm Creek).
