Background:
The Broken Arrow City Hall has been a staple for the community for more then 50 years. But as Broken Arrow has grown, they have outgrown the capacity of the current City Hall. Earlier this year the Request for Qualifications was published to have an evaluation of multiple sites and a Schematic Design for a New City Hall. Many firms submitted their qualifications, and four firms were interviewed. Narrate Design was unanimously voted on as the most qualified firm by the selection committee that was comprised of City Staff. In December of 2023 the City of Broken Arrow voted to approve an agreement with Narrate Design to investigate three sites, provide programming and conceptual design for the City Hall.
City staff negotiated Amendment 1 with Narrate Design to develop the conceptual designs from the initial contract into Construction Documents and full design services. The agreement is for $1,359,574.00 for a total project cost of $1,534,074.00
City staff negotiated Amendment 2 with Narrate Design to remove the original $19,500 survey fee and scope in Amendment 1 and then add a revised scope and $17,500 fee to complete ALTA/NSPA with Topographic Survey, $5,700 fee to complete Utility Electronic Locates and up to $1,750 fee for Easement Report for the New City Hall project. The agreement for a total project cost of $5,450.00
City staff negotiated Amendment 3 with Narrate Design to add $11,500 fee to complete Geotechnical report.
