Title:

title

Approval of and authorization to execute Major Change Order Number 1 to include additional bid items to the Nuisance Abatement Property Structure Securing Contract with Momentum Services, LLC

End

Background:

The City of Broken Arrow contracted with Momentum Services in October 2014 to administer nuisance abatements within the City of Broken Arrow.  The Contract amount is not to exceed $60,000.00.  To date, the sum of $14,729.00 has been expended.

City Staff recently met with Brian Homberger, Momentum Services to discuss several property abatement requests that are not currently covered by the bid items in the contract.  These include cutting back tree limbs from property lines, cutting down dead trees, or other special requests like replacement of section of fences.  As shown on the attached Application to Change the Plan, Staff is requesting that the following bid items be included for use by the Contractor on property abatements:

1.                     Saw Use per ½ hour at $50.00

2.                     Special Projects: Per half hour at $50.00

3.                     Trees Bid per Individual at Flat Fee

These changes will allow Staff to identify certain abatement items that the Contractor can do with on-site crews.

City Staff recommends approval of the addition of the three (3) bid items noted above with the understanding that at no time will the actual Contract amount be exceeded with existing bid items or the proposed additions.
