Approval of and authorization to execute an Agreement for Professional Consultant Services with Olsson Associates for Master Plan Design of “Aspen Creek Park” and Valley Ridge Park

Background:
“Aspen Creek Park” and Valley Ridge Park are parks proposed for the 2018 Quality of Life GO Bond. “Aspen Creek Park” is a proposed park on an 80 acre tract in the SE/4 of Section 28-18-14, north of Florence Street and west of Aspen Avenue. Valley Ridge Park is an existing park at 5852 S. Date Ave, north of the Creek Turnpike and east of Elm Place. “Aspen Creek Park” is to include a skate park, splash pad, playground, picnic shelters, trails, sports courts, open free play area, community center, sand volleyball court, practice fields, fishing pond, butterfly garden. Valley Ridge Park is to include a restroom (currently under construction), small skate park, playground, splash pad, basketball court, enlarged parking lot, security lighting, open free play area, and landscaping.
Olsson Associates was selected by the Engineering and Construction Department to produce a Master Plan Design of both parks.
The Engineering and Construction Department prepared the attached agreement with Olsson Associates in the amount of $15,000.00. Funding for the design will be from Sales Tax Capital Improvements in projects 186025 and 186026.
Cost: $15,000.00
