                     Presentation and possible discussion concerning an update of activities and new businesses in the Rose District by a member of the Broken Arrow Economic Development Corporation

Background:

Mr. Warren Unsicker, Vice President of Economic Development with the Broken Arrow Economic Development Corporation will provide an update on new business starts in the Rose District, Rose District map, events planning and attractions and upcoming events.

New Business Starts:  Three new businesses opened their doors in the past month with three additional businesses contemplating locating in the Rose District. 

 

                     Rose District Map:  The Broken Arrow Economic Development Corporation has printed thousands of Rose District maps that will be distributed to regional hotels and venues as well as placed in Rose District businesses to attract and guide people to the district.

 

                     Events, Planning and Attractions:  City and Chamber staff are currently collaborating on the Oklahoma Made Festival that would feature locally made goods, wine, food trucks, and fine dining. 

 

                     Fitness Classes:  BAEDC staff worked with the HUB Gym to partner with the city to offer an 8-week fitness camp in the Rose District Pavilion on Monday and Wednesday nights. This program has been attracting 75-100 people per night.

 

                     Past Events:  BAEDC staff assisted City staff coordinating the logistics for Red White and Brew.

 

                     BAEDC staff provided promotional materials from numerous Rose District businesses to the team parents at the USSSA Baseball World Series.  

 

                     Upcoming Event:  White Linen Nights in the Rose District.
