Review of bids received and award the most advantageous bid to Rush Truck Center for the purchase of a 2017 Peterbilt 567 tractor/trailer cab and chassis for the Streets Department

Background:
The Street Division requested and sought bids for one tractor/trailer cab and chassis. Nine (9) vendors were solicited to bid on this tractor/trailer cab and chassis. A total of eight (8) bids were received from four (4) vendors. The low bid, from Premier Truck, did not meet specifications with regard to the transmission specification. The next low bid from Rush Truck Center for a 2017 Peterbilt 567 meets specifications and is recommended for purchase.
The total price for the truck with options selected is $121,075.00. The options selected are reflected in the attached bid tabulation. Staff recommends that the Council award the most advantageous bid to Rush Truck Center.
Funds for this purchase have been appropriated and are available in the Sales Tax Capital Improvement (STCI) fund in the available amount of $140,000. (Project No. 165315, Acct. No. 030-5300-431.70-02)
