title

Approval of and authorization to reject the previously awarded Statewide Contract bid from Vance Chevrolet for the purchase of a Chevrolet Tahoe and award the bid to Hudiburg Chevrolet on the Statewide Contract

Background:

On January 02, 2018, City Council approved the purchase of a Chevrolet Tahoe from Vance Chevrolet for $31,877.00 based off of Statewide Contract SW35.  At the meeting the Fire Chief advised the City Council that although the Tahoe was not the lowest priced vehicle, the department had determined the Tahoe was most advantageous due to the identified options and the need for a dual battery.

During the process of issuing a purchase order to the vendor, purchasing staff was informed that they had been provided an incorrect purchase price in error.  As a result, Vance Chevrolet is no longer the lowest priced vendor offering a Tahoe.

After correcting the pricing in the bid tabulation, Hudiburg Chevrolet became the lowest priced vendor.

The Purchasing Department recommends rejecting the previously awarded Statewide Contract bid from Vance Chevrolet for the purchase of one (1) Chevrolet Tahoe and awarding the bid to Hudiburg Chevrolet, which is now the lowest Chevrolet Tahoe bid and thus more advantageous to the City. Funding for the additional cost is available within the original budgeted amount in the Fire Sales Tax Fund.

Cost:                                                                $36,156.00
