title

Approval of and authorization to execute Amendment No. 1 to Agreement for Professional Consultant Services with LandPlan Consultants, Inc for the City Hall Landscape/Lighting Parking Improvements (Project No. 2117100)

End

Background:

The City Hall Parking Lot was constructed many years ago as part of the building of the City of Broken Arrow City Hall. In the years that have passed since the City Hall Parking Lot was originally built, the parking lot has experienced many years of wear and has no lighting installed. The City intends to improve the parking lots to include a landscaping, pavement rehabilitation, irrigation, and lighting.

During design of this project, it was determined that this project would need to be split into two phases in order for funding to be available for landscape and lighting for each of the parking lots.  It was also determined that the desire was to add brick and mortar seat walls with cast stone tops that match the aesthetics of the Rose District around the exterior of the parking lots.  Designing the new seat wall, and designing and bidding the project as two phases was not included in the scope of their original contract.  For this reason, the Engineering and Construction Department negotiated a lump sum fee with LandPlan Consultants, Inc for $5,200 for the added scope of work.

Phase 1 is intended to include the southwest parking lot that is closest to Main St.  Phase 2 will include the southeast and northeast parking lots.
