Approval of and authorization to execute a Professional Consultant Agreement with Holloway, Updike, and Bellen, Inc. (HUB) for Highway 51 North Sewer Extension from Blue Bell Creameries to East Washington Street (Project No. S.25080)
End
Background:
Residents along E. Knoxville Street in the Oak Creek Estates neighborhood North of the Oak Creek South neighborhood have experienced overflows from the sewer manholes in their backyards during high flow and rain events. The proposed solution to this issue is to reduce flow on this area of the collection system. Blue Bell Creameries discharges a significant amount of flow in this area which could be rerouted with the addition of a new sewer line from their location to East Washington Street. This new line will take the sewer exiting Blue Bell Creameries and go southeast on the north side of Highway 51, cross Highway 51, and flow southeast to connect to existing 15” sewer line at East Washington Street, east of S. 200th E. Ave. This sewer line will be upsized to prepare for future expansions at Blue Bell Creameries and properties north and south of Highway 51.
Engineering and Construction Department negotiated a Professional Consultant Agreement with HUB to design and prepare construction documents, assist during bidding and construction, and prepare construction closeout documents for the Highway 51 North Sewer Extension from Blue Bell Creameries to East Washington Street project. The negotiated amount is $172,500.00.
