Consideration, possible approval of and authorization to execute Resolution 883, a Resolution of the City Council of the City of Broken Arrow accepting and approving the re-codification of the Broken Arrow Code of Ordinances; acknowledging the compilation and publication in a printed, permanent form; notifying the public of the publication and re-codification of the Code of Ordinances and their availability in the Tulsa and Wagoner County Law Libraries and on the City’s website, as well as for purchase in the office of the City Clerk; and authorizing the City Clerk to take all such actions necessary to effectuate compliance with State Statute.

Background:
As required by Oklahoma State Statutes 11 O.S. 14 § 109, the City Code of Ordinances must be updated every ten (10) years. Request for Proposals were sent to invite qualified companies to submit proposals for the recodification. After reviewing the proposals, the City Council decided that Municipal Code Corporation was the most qualified company to recodify the City Code of Ordinances. On August 5, 2014, the City of Broken Arrow approved a contract with Municipal Code Corporation for the re-publication of the Broken Arrow Code.
On June 3, 2015, the City received the new Broken Arrow Code books. The publication and re-codification are compiled in a permanent volume as required by statute. Copies of the codes have been provided to the Law Libraries at the Tulsa and Wagoner County Courthouses in accordance with applicable law. The Code is also available to the general public on the City’s website and upon request for purchase in the Office of the City Clerk.
The attached Resolution accepts and approves the re-codification of the Code of Ordinances. It acknowledges the compilation and publication in a printed, permanent form and notifies the public of location in the county law libraries, on the City’s website and availability for purchase. Finally, it authorizes the City Clerk to take all such actions as are necessary to effectuate compliance with State Statute. This Resolution will be published in full if approved by the Council.
