Background:
The Leisure Park Splash Pad & Playground and Country Aire Park Playground are 2014 Quality of Life General Obligation Bond projects. The purpose of the projects is to construct a Playground and Splash Pad at Leisure Park located 1801 West Charleston Street and to construct a Playground at Country Aire Park at 100 North Fir Ave.
The bid documents included a Base Bid and two Additive Alternatives for the Leisure Park and a Base Bid and two Additive Alternatives for the Country Aire Park. The project was advertised for bids on November 10th and 17th, 2017. Bids were opened on December 5th, 2017. Eight (8) bids were received. The low bidder was Stronghand, LLC with a Leisure Park Base Bid of $312,654.00, Additive Alternate No. LPA-1 of $6,847.00, Additive Alternate No. LPA-2 of $8,928.00 and a Country Aire Park Base Bid of $161,021.00, Additive Alternate No. CAA-1 of $12,914.00, Additive Alternate No. CAA-2 of $5,555.00. The certified bid tabulation is attached.
Staff recommends award of the Base Bid with Additive Alternate No. 1 and Additive Alternate No. 2 for Leisure Park Splash Pad & Playground and Base Bid with Additive Alternate No. 1 and Additive Alternate No. 2 Country Aire Park Playground to Stronghand, LLC, in the amount of $507,919.00.
Funds for the work are available as follows: $473,106 from the 2014 General Obligation Bond Issue Quality of Life and $34,813 from the 2011 General Obligation Bond Issue Quality of Life unnamed projects fund balance.
Cost: $507,919.00
