PT-002920-2026 | PR-000951-2026, the preliminary plat for the new South Broken Arrow Library, contains 2 proposed lots on 6.35 acres. This property is generally located south of New Orleans St (101st Street) and 600 feet west of Aspen Ave (145th E Avenue), at the southeast corner of New Orleans Street (101st Street) and Chestnut Avenue.

 

On April 7, 2026, voters in the City of Broken Arrow approved Proposition 7 of the Broken Arrow General Obligation (GO) Bond package to contribute funding for a new library in South Broken Arrow.

 

The existing South Broken Arrow library, located at the southwest corner of New Orleans Street (101st Street) and S Chestnut Avenue, is zoned RM (Residential Multifamily). A public library requires a Specific Use Permit in residential zoned districts; therefore, the existing South Broken Arrow library was approved by Specific Use Permit. A public library is a permitted use in the CG (Commercial General) zoning district.

 

PT-002920-2026 is the first application towards platting this property. This development will have access via West New Orleans Street (101st Street) and South Chestnut Avenue.

 

According to FEMA maps, none of the property is located within the 100-year floodplain. Water and Sewer are available from the City of Broken Arrow.

 

This preliminary plat was reviewed by the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) on June 30, 2026. Staff and TAC recommend approval of the preliminary plat for the TCCL-Broken Arrow South library site.
