Approval of a letter from Crossland Heavy Contractors agreeing to delay the award of the lowest responsible bid to Crossland Heavy Contractors, for East Nashville Street (Project No. ED1701)

End

Background:

This project is to construct a new industrial collector street east of 9th Street for the expanded Alfa Laval facility.  The street will be a P.C. Concrete street with curbs and a closed stormsewer system for drainage.  It will be constructed on the south side of the expanded Alfa Laval site.  The State of Oklahoma has allocated industrial access money for this project.

The project was advertised for bids on March 5 and 12, 2018.  Bids were opened on March 27, 2018 and five (5) bids were received.  All bids were responsive.  The lowest responsible bidder was Crossland Heavy Contractors, and they have provided a letter to delay the award of the bid for 60 days.  The City is negotiating with ODOT for additional funds to construct the complete roadway and it will take another 30 days to complete those negotiations.  By contract the contractor must agree to an extension of the bid award and Crossland Heavy Contractors has agreed.

Staff recommends accepting the letter to extend the bid award for 60 days.

No funding is required at this time.
