Background:
In 2011, the City entered into an agreement with HRAOK, Inc. for design of 37th Street (209th East Avenue) from Omaha Street (51st Street South) to Albany Street (61st Street South). The A/E prepared preliminary and 90% design documents in 2012, but the roadway design could not be completed until the design of the regional storm water detention pond west of the street could progress to a point where the roadway elevation and drainage structure at Adams Creek could be defined. On February 19, 2016, the preliminary design for the detention pond was submitted, and Engineering and Construction Department started negotiations on an amendment for the roadway design.
The attached Amendment No. 1 for 37th Street - Omaha to Albany is to redesign road surface elevations and prepare construction documents for a three-lane 37th Street roadway. Resubmittal of the preliminary and final designs is required. The negotiated amount of Amendment No. 1 is $25,900.00. Adding the Amendment No. 1 cost to the original agreement cost of $85,000 results in a total cost of $110,900.00, or 3.3% of the estimated roadway construction cost. Amendment No. 1 is attached.
Funding for the Amendment is available in the 2014 Streets GO Bond.
