Title:

title

Approval of and authorization to execute the Amendment Number 1 to the Effluent Contract for Irrigation with Indian Springs County Club

End

Background:

The original Effluent Contract for Irrigation with the Indian Springs County Club was originally executed in November 2023 between the Broken Arrow Municipal Authority and the Indian Springs County Club. The main purpose of this agreement was to arrange for the supply of effluent waters from the Lynn Lane Wastewater Treatment Plant to the County Clubs irrigation system.

This amendment to the original agreement is being executed such to address unforeseen issues to the effluent supply that were impacted due to the active construction of the new UV Disinfection project at the plant. It was found that during construction, the relocation of the antiquated pump owned by the Country Club into the newly constructed facility, directly impacted its functionality due to an elevation feasibility issue. As such, the Authority’s staff and Country Club staff reviewed the situation and came to an agreeable solution to install a new irrigation pump and control system in lieu of modifying the antiquated pump to fit the new elevations. This work will be rolled into the existing UV Disinfection construction contract. Within this solution, the County Club has agreed to reimburse the Authority the increased cost of the new pump and installation of the new control panel as compared to the alternative option to modify the existing pump.

Additionally, during this period for replacement of the existing pump, the Authority will provide effluent waters utilizing a temporary pumping system. Until the temporary pumping system is installed, potable waters shall be provided and associated utility billing shall be waived.
